Founder & Chief Executive Webmaster

Built the firm in 1998 from a single booth at Mickey’s Diner. Has been crowned Queen of the Snows twice and kept the sash both times. Final say on everything, including whether you are “from here.”

Director of Being Here First

Reminds clients, vendors and waitstaff that Saint Paul was a city before Minneapolis. Once explained it to a Minneapolis tour group, uninvited, for forty minutes.

Portrait of our VP, Wayfinding

VP, Wayfinding

Has moved her car 3,114 times. Has been towed 3,115 times. Will not discuss the extra one.

Intern (since 2004)

Moved here from Minneapolis “for a year.” Still says “St. Paul” with a period. Will be considered for promotion once he stops calling it “the Twin Cities” as though it is one place.

About Our Name

Lowertown is named for the Lower Landing, on the Mississippi, where the steamboats tied up. In the steamboat days, Saint Paul was as far up the river as most of them went. There was a waterfall in the way, in Minneapolis. That is not why they stopped.

“Lower” is a geographic term. It is not a ranking. We have a separate ranking.
